libgeos-3.4.2 software package provides Geometry engine for Geographic Information Systems - C++ Library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libgeos-3.4.2
libgeos-3.4.2 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libgeos-3.4.2 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libgeos-3.4.2 *
You will get with libgeos-3.4.2 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
